The kids are loving these little lights I picked up at the Dollar Store. I found them in the prize section. Before we introduce our letter for the day in centers, I have the kids chant the ABC song while touching each letter. The letters you see here are from our reading program Houghton Mifflin with the character behind it. Now I have them turn on their lights and point with them while we sing the song. So simple, yet really effective. I also ask them to find certain letters by pointing to it with the light.

Alphabet Chart
Here is an alphabet chart I made for the kids. They can recognize the pictures and it helps them recognize the sound of the letter if needed. You can grab a copy here: Real Alphabet
Print it out, glue it to construction paper and laminate for durability and longevity.
Each day that I introduce a new letter we begin by using this chart. We point to each letter as we sing the ABC song. We also use bingo markers to find letters on the chart.
